Acting Dean of Education
Prof Victor Mugari is the Acting Dean of Education. Before his recent appointment in November, he was the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, a position he held since February 2020. Before that, he was the Chairperson of the Department of Linguistics from 2017-2020.
He joined the University of Zimbabwe in November 2003 and is an Associate Professor of Linguistics. He holds a Doctoral degree in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from the Beijing Language and Culture University (China, 2012).
His research interests include Syntax and its interfaces with Semantics, Morphology, Sociolinguistics, Strategic Communication, Bilingualism and Second Language Learning. He is an Education 5.0 Champion and a member of the University Quality Assurance Committee.
